How to Disable Google Plus Email Updates or Notification

Google Plus is a very handy social network, but, let’s admit it, getting emails just about every Google Plus update can be pretty annoying. What to do? It’s all in your settings.

Step 1. Log in to your Google Plus account.

Step 2. Click on the account picture in the upper right corner of your account page.

Step 3. From the appearing little pop-up window, choose “Account”.

Step 4. Now choose “Edit settings” from the left part of the page. You have just accessed a very important center of all your Google Plus life.

Step 5. First of all, scroll down to “Manage subscriptions”. By default, your occasional updates are on, which means that you are getting all those Google Plus activity updates right to your mailbox and all those people updates as well. Un-tick the boxes. Good.

Step 6. Now scroll more down to “Receive notifications” center - the center of all evil spam:). Ok, kidding. If you click on ”Posts”, “Circles” or “Events”, you’ll discover additional reasons of why all those notifications are coming straight to your email. For instance, we click on “Posts” and see that all the actions connected to posting on Google Plus are reported straight to our email. Not good. We update notifications preferences and un-tick the boxes.

Step 7. Do the same with various types of notifications in this section and you’ll discover that your life became much easier. Great.

Step 8. For your reference, on the same page you can update your Google Plus privacy settings, control what you share with others and even disable your Google Plus account. We’ll talk about privacy issues in our other tutorials.
